Granting a mail enabled security group "send on behalf" permission to mailbox in E2K7
Hi,
I created a mailbox and now want to grant a mail-enabled universal security grp "send on behalf" permission for that group. When ever, I am trying to set the "send on behalf" permission for that mailbox from EMC, the group doesn't show up in the list from
the add button. I tried several times but no result. How can I set the "send on behalf" permission for a mail-enabled universal security to a mailbox from EMC (NOT FROM THE OUTLOOK). Any quick reply will be highly appreciated.

Try using the Exchange Management Shell using the following command:
Set-Mailbox UserMailbox -GrantSendOnBehalfTo GroupHere MVP | MCSE:M | MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator | MCTS: OCS + Voice Specialization |

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I tried as suggested but failed. I think its not possible to grant a mail enabled sec universal grp the required "send on behalf" permission to a mailbox. It only allows mail user or user mailbox to have that permission from EMC/EMS.
If I have to do it for Distribution Grp, I have to do it from OUTLOOK. This is my finding. Anyother comments/ findings will be appreciated.

Hi,
Yes, it's only available in Outlook. That's by design.
You Cannot Set "Send on Behalf Of" Permissions to a Distribution List by Using the Exchange Server Administrator Program
